How to Make Luggage Tag Business Cards

DIY Luggage Tag Business Cards Using BeFunky’s Graphic Designer

Ready to make your own luggage tag-shaped business card? To get started, head to the Graphic Designer. This link will bring you straight to our selection of blank canvases.

Step 1: Select the Business Card Sized Blank Canvas

Scroll down to find the Business Card (3.5” x 2”) sized template, located in the Print section.

Step 2: Change Your Canvas Background Color

In this step, we're going to make our background transparent for digital use. But you can also change the background color to whatever makes it easiest if you're going to cut it out after printing.

Navigate to Customize in the main menu on the left. Simply select one of the color swatches underneath Background Color, or click the first swatch to open the Color Picker and choose any hue you had in mind. To remove the background completely, click the No Color button.

Step 3: Insert a Blank Luggage Tag Graphic

With your canvas ready to go, it’s now time to insert a blank tag shape. This will act as the foundation for your very own luggage tag card.

Select Graphics from the main menu on the left and click Search Graphics. This will open BeFunky’s huge Graphic Library. Type “tag” into the search bar at the top-left, then select your desired tag shape.

Once a small blue checkmark appears on the image, simply close the Graphics Library. Your chosen tag shape will be in the Your Graphics section. Drag and drop the graphic onto your canvas, then drag its corners inwards or outwards to make it smaller or larger. You can also reposition it by moving it with your mouse. Ensure that it fills your canvas as much as possible, so it’s the optimal size.

Step 4: Change the Background of Your Luggage Tag Shape

Now comes the fun part: adding a unique design to your luggage tag business card! Navigate to Image Manager in the main menu on the left. From here, you have the choice of using one of your own images on your luggage tag, or one of the millions of free stock photos available in BeFunky’s Stock Image Library.

Click Computer to upload an image from your own files. Alternatively, you can click the three dots (“…”) to upload an image from your BeFunky account, Facebook, or Google Photos. Simply drag and drop your desired image onto your luggage tag shape. It will then become the background image of your tag.

To use a stock image instead, click Search Stock Images. You can then type your desired search term into the search bar in the top-left of the screen. Select the image(s) you wish to use and they will be added to your Image Manager, ready to drag and drop onto your tag shape.

Step 5: Add Your Text

Next, it’s time to add your business card details to your tag. Click Text in the main menu on the left. You can choose from one of the preset texts below, or click Add Text to create a text box from scratch. Click and drag your text box into place, then double-click it to type in your information.

When you select the text box, a Text Properties toolbar appears where you can also adjust things such as the font, size, color, spacing, and more.

Step 6: Save Your Business Card Tag

Now we’re going to save our luggage tag business card. Choose your desired location from the dropdown. For printing, be sure to select PDF and Print Quality.
